Learn how to get the most out of Content Doctor

1 Getting Started

Content Doctor helps you diagnose and fix SEO and content quality issues on any web page. Here's how to get started:

  1. Create an account - Sign up with your email to get 5 free credits
  2. Go to the Analyse page - Click "Analyse" in the navigation bar
  3. Enter a URL - Paste any public web page URL
  4. Review your report - Get instant insights and actionable fixes

2 Running an Analysis

Each analysis costs 1 credit and provides a comprehensive breakdown of your page's health.

What you can analyse:

  • Live URLs - Any publicly accessible web page
  • Competitor pages - See what top-ranking pages do differently
  • Your own content - Check pages before or after optimisation

Analysis includes:

  • Content Health Score (0-100)
  • SEO, Readability, and Structure sub-scores
  • Prioritised issues with specific fixes
  • AI-powered recommendations
  • Keyword analysis
  • Technical SEO signals

3 Understanding Scores

Content Health Score

Your overall score is a weighted combination of three sub-scores:

SEO Score (40%)

Title tags, meta descriptions, headings, keywords, internal links

Readability (30%)

Sentence length, paragraph structure, reading level

Structure (30%)

Heading hierarchy, content organisation, word count

Score Ranges

80-100 Excellent - Your content is well-optimised
60-79 Good - Minor improvements recommended
40-59 Fair - Several issues need attention
0-39 Needs Work - Significant improvements needed

4 Keyword Insights

Content Doctor automatically extracts and analyses keywords from your page:

Primary Keywords

Keywords found in high-value locations: title tag, H1 heading, or meta description. These are your strongest ranking signals.

Secondary Keywords

Keywords found only in body content. Consider adding these to your title or headings to strengthen their SEO impact.

Placement Analysis

For each keyword, we show exactly where it appears (title, meta, H1, H2s, body) and how many times. This helps you optimise keyword placement for better rankings.

5 Performance Insights

Get real performance data from Google PageSpeed Insights. Costs +1 additional credit (2 credits total for analysis + performance).

How to enable:

Check the "Include Performance Insights" box on the analysis form before running your scan. The performance data loads asynchronously after the main report.

Largest Contentful Paint - how fast main content loads

Cumulative Layout Shift - visual stability

Target: <0.1

Total Blocking Time - interactivity delay

Target: <200ms

Lighthouse Scores:

  • Performance - Overall speed score (0-100)
  • Accessibility - How accessible your page is
  • Best Practices - Web development standards
  • SEO - Technical SEO compliance

Mobile & Desktop:

Toggle between mobile and desktop results to see how your page performs on different devices. Mobile scores are typically lower and more important for SEO.

6 Competitor Analysis

See how your content stacks up against top-ranking competitors. Costs 1 additional credit.

How it works:

  1. After running an analysis, click "Run Competitor Analysis"
  2. We search for top-ranking pages on the same topic
  3. Each competitor page is analysed and compared to yours
  4. You get a side-by-side comparison with actionable insights

What you'll learn:

  • Where you rank among competitors (#1-#4)
  • Word count differences
  • Heading structure comparison
  • Image usage
  • Content gaps to fill
  • What the #1 ranking page does well

7 AI Recommendations

Our AI analyses your content and generates specific, actionable recommendations:

Note: AI recommendations are suggestions based on SEO best practices. Always review and adapt them to match your brand voice and specific audience.

Click "Download PDF" from any analysis report to generate and download your report.

9 Sharing Reports

Create shareable links to send analysis results to clients or prospects. Choose between two report types based on your goal.

Lead Magnet Report

Perfect for attracting new clients. Shows problems without solutions - designed to hook prospects and encourage them to contact you for help.

How to share:

  1. Open any analysis report
  2. Select "Lead Magnet" or "Full Report" from the dropdown
  3. Click "Share with Client"
  4. For Lead Magnet, customise your CTA details in the modal
  5. Copy and send the shareable link

10 Report Branding

Customise how your shared reports appear to clients. Add your company details and contact information for a professional presentation.

What you can customise:

  • Company Name - Displayed on shared reports
  • Company Website - Link back to your site
  • Contact Name - Your name or account manager
  • Contact Email - Where prospects should reach out
  • Contact Phone - Optional phone number
  • Booking URL - Calendly, Cal.com, or other scheduling link
  • CTA Headline - Custom call-to-action headline
  • CTA Message - Persuasive text encouraging contact

Setting up branding:

  1. Go to Profile from the navigation menu
  2. Click the orange Set Up or Edit button in the Report Branding section
  3. Fill in your company and contact details
  4. Save your changes

Per-report customisation:

When creating a Lead Magnet share link, you can override your default CTA details for that specific report. This is useful when targeting different clients or running specific campaigns.
